Constellation 4

Orion - A=432

The Orion Arm is a minor spiral arm of the Milky Way galaxy around 10,000 light-years in length and about 3,500 light-years in width. Our Solar System including the Earth lies within the Orion Arm. Within the Orion Arm, the Solar System, including Earth, is located approximately 26,000 light-years from the Galactic Center. The Orion Nebula is farther away than any of the naked eye stars at a distance of about 1,600 light-years.

The Orion Constellation is prominently located on the celestial equator, and visible from all over the world. The Orion constellation is named after the hunter in Greek mythology, and is one of the most recognizable constellations in the sky and can be seen throughout the world.

Two of the brightest stars in the evening sky lie at opposite corners of the constellation: orange-red Betelgeuse at the northeastern corner and brighter blue-whiter Rigel at the southwest. Betelgeuse’ output is about 100,000 times more than the Sun and it is around 20 times its mass. Betelgeuse is a red supergiant the largest class of stars. Rigel is a blue supergiant. Like Betelgeuse, it is much bigger and heavier than the Sun. Rigel shines up to 100,000 times brighter than the Sun.
